Greetings all Brownfield Gap Financing Program Interested Parties,

Thank you for your continued interest in the Brownfield Gap Financing Program.   Minnesota Brownfields is pleased to be the administrator of this grant program for another year.

As announced at our recent ReScape event, the next round of grant funding from Hennepin County for the BGFP that Minnesota Brownfields administers opens for applications on May 1.  We look forward to receiving applications from the nonprofit organizations that you work with.  You can find the updated application form on our GAP Financing page

To best ensure efficient administration of the BGFP, we have updated our policies; they can also be found on our GAP Financing page.

There are specific requirements called-out in the document, and I ask that you carefully review.  Be sure to share the document with others within your organization that interface with the projects’ invoicing and communications.  These requirements are the result of our staff observing “disconnects” between the consultants and our staff that will be avoided by adherence to the policy document.

Minnesota Brownfields appreciates our consultant partners and the clients you serve.  Hennepin County’s BRGF has invested over $1.6 million in community projects in support of Affordable Housing, Commercial Redevelopment, Arts & Culture, Open Space, and more.  Your attention to the above-stated administrative policies will ensure that the program is administered efficiently and into our future!

Executive Director

2022 Programming

This year will bring some terrific content to Minnesota Brownfields. We are kicking things off with our annual ReScape Awards, taking place April 7 at the St. Paul Event Center. On May 10 we will be hosting our first ever PFAS Education and Outreach Session, hosted at WSB and co-sponsored by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. This event will include presentations from MPCA and small group work allowing attendees to provide feedback on guidance and draft language currently proposed for PFAS, among other things.

Watch for the final date to be announced for our annual Member's Only event, being held in Mankato this year in late July! In late September we plan for a Financial Literacy in Brownfields Remediation session, showcasing what economic options are available for those seeking to redevelop brownfields sites. Proposed topics include a review of the infrastructure dollars now available, EPA grant money, and others.

We hope to sandwich some fun social events throughout the year as well. Have a suggestion for a fun place to meet? Let us know HERE!
